Following FashFest, the highly successful showcase of Canberra’s fashion talent, comes an exciting new event from the nation’s capital. Sustainable Threads, held on June 6 at the Belconnen Arts Centre, invites you to view some of the cutting edge designs from graduates of the CIT Bachelor of Design (fashion). PurePod and EDITION will again be making an appearance, along with up-and-comer SOVATA: a quirky racewear and millinery line dedicated to bringing zero waste pattern making to the race track. The line uses materials such as silk, woollen jersey and cotton stretch for its garments and all hats are constructed from materials sourced nearby in the ACT and NSW. Find full details of the event here.
