Founder, publisher and editor-in-chief Kelley Sheenan started Peppermint way back in 2008, when sustainable was still far from becoming a mainstream buzzword. As a former graphic and fashion designer, Kelley decided to bridge the gap between sustainability and style – almost ten years later, Peppermint is now the leading sustainable fashion and lifestyle magazine in Australia and beyond. Still based in beautiful Brisbane, Australia, the magazine remains resolutely independent – successful because of a focus on building an authentically connected community through inspirational storytelling and beautiful imagery.
Founder / Designer / Editor-in-chief
Kelley combines her editing, design and publishing skills to create every issue of Peppermint. With her keen eye for detail and passion for ethics and sustainability, she’s dedicated to providing a platform that shares the stories of people doing good in the world.
Desta has spent the last 13 years working as a journalist and content writer covering all things lifestyle, sustainability, culture and travel. Her days at Peppermint magazine are filled with managing the editorial calendar, chatting to inspirational people doing great things for the world, and working with the talented freelancers that contribute to the magazine.
Rebecca Jamieson Dwyer
Rebecca has more than ten years’ experience in journalism and has been part of the Peppermint team, as Editor, since 2014. Currently on maternity leave with her gorgeous new bub Daisy, Bec currently contributes to the magazine remotely as our editor-at-large.
National Advertising Manager
Having worked in advertising, marketing, publicity and sales for 18 years, Michelle joined the Peppermint team in December 2018. A warm and creative people-person, Michelle creates strong bonds with partners who share our values, and works closely with them to share their message with the Peppermint audience.
Digital and Assistant Editor
With an affinity for words, wandering and the world around us, Lauren works across all things print and digital at Peppermint, and is responsible for the website and (bad) social media puns. She has worked professionally as a journalist, editor and content creator for over six years and is passionate about making a positive impact through the power of storytelling.
Events and Partnerships Manager
Roxane has an extensive background in communications and public policy, and also runs a small social impact womenswear brand. She brings a wealth of experience to her role as the driving force behind all Peppermint partnerships and events.
Community and Editorial Support
With a background in copywriting, design, teaching and retail (local Brisbane friends may recognise her as the smiling face at Brown’s General Store), Caitlin is our customer service star, handling all things community related, including subscriptions and general enquiries.
With a background in government and arts management, Mara sidestepped into her true calling of bookkeeping when she gave in to her lifelong love: numbers. Mara is an avid knitter and, when she’s not at the Peppermint offices crunching said numbers, loves cooking and spending time with her family and two pet ducks!
