Sewing at Splendour

If you fancy some crafty down time during your Splendour festivities this weekend, Kim Bailey is the woman to visit. The first event in her national ‘Learn to Sew’ tour, the east of grey designer will be providing sewing machines and supplies in her quest to teach others the art of dressmaking, upcycling and mending clothing. “I’ve been teaching girls sewing and it’s so much fun,” Kim says. “It has made me realise there must be so many young people who would love to sew but may not get the opportunity; maybe they live too far away, or their school doesn’t offer sewing. What if I went to them?” Keep an eye on the east of grey website for details as the tour progresses, where you can also get in touch with Kim if you’re keen to sign up for the Splendour workshop.
