Afternoon Delight

Any fan of Australian fashion will know all about Linda Jackson – and if you don’t, you should. The iconic designer has been delighting lovers of intense colour and print for four decades now, creating fashion and textiles solo and with fellow design veteran Jenny Kee under the “Bush Couture” label as well as working in photography, drawing and painting. And now you can join her in an afternoon of creativity.

Having lived and worked with indigenous communities in the Northern Territory and far north Queensland for years, Linda regularly runs workshops and events to pass on her various design techniques alongside her love of the Australian landscape which inspires her work. This Saturday she’s bringing her workshop to Watford House in Avoca, which she has “dressed” for the occasion, and looks forward to welcoming and working with anyone who has an interest in photography, painting, craftsmanship, printing, and sewing. So if you’re a creative type, wish you were a creative type, or just want to meet an Australian design icon, pack up whatever projects you’re working on or would like to start on and head out for a day of discovery in rural Victoria.
