Vinnies Family Fun Day

Christmas is a time to celebrate and share with friends and family, but for the more than two million Australians living in poverty, the holidays can strike a cruel blow to an already desperate situation. For St Vincent de Paul, 50% of all budget to carry out their community services and programs comes directly from their Vinnies op shop sales, with one of their most critical stores being the Sutherland, NSW store. To help boost funds for vital Christmas programs, Vinnies Sutherland store is holding a family fun day event tomorrow, Saturday 8th of December from 12pm-2pm, with a visit from Santa, face painting, goodie bags and of course, second hand treasures for sale in store. Head to the Vinnies website for more details and also to check out the cool competitions they’ve got running at the moment. And if you’re not in Sutherland, be sure to pop into your local op shops in the lead up to Christmas anyway. You just might find that unique gift for someone on your list, and by doing so you’ll be supporting important community programs in your local area.
