Australia’s first ever Indigenous Fashion Week (AIFW) is now only months away, but AIFW is already looking for the future stars of design! In partnership with Billy Blue College of Design, AIFW recently awarded two up-and-coming Indigenous designers with Design Fundamentals Scholarships. Corina Ritchie and Tyson Jolley will complete a range of courses through the college to support them in preparing their runway collections for AIFW in 2015. Tyson, who is from the small mission settlement of Karuah, NSW, has always dreamed of starting a creative career, while Corina, A Yorta Yorta woman who grew up in Melbourne, says it is a dream come true and one step closer to her ambition of opening a bespoke boutique. We’re excited to see more from these two! {Image and designs by Corina Ritchie}.
