Peppermint at The Big Design Market!

The Big Design Market

HELLO SYDNEY! Exciting news from Team Pepps: we’ll be at the amazing Big Design Market for all three days of its Sydney event! As well as magazines and subscription offers (and Issue 40’s just one of the awesome inclusions in the legendary Big Design Market goodie bag), we’ll have our BEAUTIFUL, brand-new 2019 Peppermint wallplanners, tote bags and t-shirts for sale. On top of that, we’ll also be rubbing shoulders with 200 amazing ethical and independent designers – we fear things could get verrrry interesting for our bank accounts…

If (like us) you love sustainable design, then the market’s the place to be – as well as all the indie, handmade and slow fashion and accessories you can shake a dreamily whittled stick at (including Seaside Tones, Wild Wattle, Duckfeet, Kindling, Madge and Frank and Dollys), you can also snap up everything from BeetBox lunchboxes to Honeybee Wraps and the gorgeous ceramic travel cups of Bridget Bodenham. If all this 10/10 shopping time makes you peckish then never fear – delicious treats are on hand courtesy of Gelato MessinaShortstop donuts, and handmade chocolates and pastries by award-winning patissier Esti Garcia (and for non sugar-fiends, there are also savoury delights in the form of sashimi bowls by Fishbowl, Mary’s Burgers and Smoking Gun bagels). All this and craft brews from Young Henrys, cocktails by Archie Rose Distillery Co and Australian wines by Innocent Bystander. It’s going to take us the whole three days to get through it all! We can’t wait to see you there, Sydney friends.

Another great make from Lisa from @SunnySewsEveryday:

My #PeppermintWaratahWrapDress is finished and I’m so proud of it. It has been designed not to flap open and flash your pants in the wind, so I feel confident it will be a great wheelchair or standing dress in English weather.

✨ INSTANT CLASSIC ✨

The Peppermint Myrtle Shift Dress is a beginner-friendly make with a few special details based on the ever-stylish shift shape – the perfect dress you need in your wardrobe right now!

Myrtle cuts above the knee with options to customise the length. Don’t think she’s reserved for hot weather either: try a heavier-weight fabric to turn your Myrtle into a pinafore-style garment for layering.

For our fabrics we chose two from our lovely sewing partner @Karmme_Apparel – the bold Rottnest Stripes in a lightweight, soft-drape cotton, and the quality linen in the handpainted Mexico Collection.

Get making the Myrtle – the only question is, can you stop at just one?
