Choose Cruelty Free
It’s astounding how many major cosmetics companies still test on animals, when more and more people actually care about where the products they use are coming from and whether or not they’re cruelty free. And sometimes companies aren’t altogether truthful about it, either. So how do you sort out the “good” from the “bad” when it comes to choosing your face cream, deodorant or lipstick? One way is to check the Choose Cruelty Free list, which lets you know which companies are doing the right thing and not testing on animals. You can find out if the products they produce are vegan, mostly vegan (as in some are and some aren’t), vegetarian (may contain stuff like beeswax, milk or lanolin) or meet the standards of non-animal testing but contain some animal ingredients. And it doesn’t just apply to makeup companies but baby care, car care, pet products, gardening, fragrances, toothpaste, hair care and sunscreens and more. The not-for-profit makes companies go through a rigorous, and legally binding, accreditation process, so you can rest assured knowing you’re getting the real facts about what you’re buying!
