Designer Weekend

Can clever design really save the world? The answer at this year’s Sydney Design festival has been a big resounding “YES, OF COURSE, DUH!” Or something like that. The festival – running until Sunday – encompasses events like an indigenous garden tour with Slow Food Sydney to lessons on earth building techniques in developing countries. If a nice sit down is more your speed, jump on a train from Central Station to join Anupama Kundoo and Robbie Buck debate it out about where society’s headed, or join one of the many crafty groups including sustainable sewing and wardrobe refashion workshops. There’s plenty of stuff for kids and students to get involved with as well, which means the whole family can get in on the action. Head over to the Sydney Design Festival website to check out the full program and book your tickets!
