We Made This! Ten different kinds of paper planes, DIY book binding, a pizza-box oven and aΒ guerrillaΒ garden. At least we will be making these things when Brisbane’s The Edge celebrate their second birthday this weekend. This little hub of creativity is hosting a DIY-themed party on Saturday to mark the special occasion and we’re all invited to come down and learn a new skill. The Edge team will be offering 50 free workshops in five hours on everything from documentary film making to stop-motion animation. We’re particularly excited about the tutorials which make use of recycled and discarded materials.Β Live music, food, a suitcase rummage and those gorgeous river views – oh what an afternoon!

βCrafting is something that has come naturally since I was small and I just havenβt stopped. When I was smaller, I was interested in the end result. As Iβve gotten older, I realise itβs the process that keeps me coming back to craft. Itβs a meditative state for me and I find the repetitive action of the stitching and felting quite therapeutic.ββ
