Urban Oasis

Fed Square Pop Up Patch

We’ve seen some kooky things pop up in Melbourne’s Federation Square over the years, but this little green oasis in the heart of the CBD sure takes the cake (or should we say, the carrot!). Everyone’s favourite urban gardening team The Little Veggie Patch Co. are almost half-way into their year-long Pop Up Patch project which is adding more than a touch of leafy green to Melbourne’s concrete jungle. Leave it to the boys at LVPC to create your specialised garden box, then tend your patch regularly and watch your produce grow! A handful of plots are still available for rent, or if you’d like to just have a sticky beak at the patch instead, the strictly chemical-free garden is open to the public seven days a week. There’s also a range of edible garden workshops hosted in the garden happening this month – see their website for more details.
