This week is Australia’s 17th National Recycling Week! Founded by Planet Ark, the initiative started back in 1996 to bring a national focus to the environmental benefits of recycling. This year, some of the specific aims include getting more students involved through the Schools Recycle Right Challenge and encouraging community recycling activities like school or workplace swap parties. To help people organise events, Planet Ark have put together a swap party guide video to explain just how a swap party works! If you don’t want to host an activity yourself, you can find out what other events are happening in your area by checking out the National Recycling Week Events page. The choices include worm farm competitions, e-waste days and even book exchanges. Time to get recycling!
