Make A Mucke

Mucke

Turning a men’s business shirt into something pretty and wearable is a great project idea (just take a look at Issue 16’s Sewing School to see what we mean!), but there is nothing quite like learning from the best. On Saturday April 6th, Melbourne-based designer and upcycler extraordinaire Ellie Mucke will be hosting an exclusive workshop at Footscray’s Colour Box Studio. Participants will have six hours to learn all there is to know about transforming used clothes into new and beautiful creations. The workshop includes a basic sewing skills tutorial, plus how to upcycle successfully based on principles of cut, design and drape. Turn a man’s shirt into a customisable ladies designer skirt, all while munching on an organic afternoon tea! Bookings are essential and places and limited, so secure your seat before time runs out.
