H&M Upcycled Collection

H&M Upcycled Collection

Recently celebrated for signing the Accord on Fire and Building Safety Bangladesh (an historic agreement aimed at preventing future garment factory disasters), fashion retail giant H&M have reaffirmed their commitment to sustainability by launching a one off upcycled fashion collection in partnership with the Beckmans School of Design. Thirteen students from the school were given recycled garments from H&M’s takeback program and given a week to come up with unique outfits. A jury of Sweden’s fashion elite judged the designs and determined the winners, whose creations will be exhibited in H&M’s flagship Stockholm store for a week. The pieces will then be auctioned off and as a further gesture of goodwill, all proceeds will be directed to UNICEF with H&M matching the winning bids!
