This year’s Cairns Indigenous Arts Fair (CAIF) is taking a fashion trip to Melbourne. The CIAF’s fashion performance, Birrimbi Dulgu Bajal (Rainforest and Sea Dreaming), will appear as part of the 2016 Virgin Melbourne Fashion Festival’s Cultural Program Project Series on Thursday 3 March at the South Wharf Promenade. A vibrant celebration of Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art and culture, Birrimbi Dulgu Bajal features innovative wearable fashion from 10 Far North Queensland and the Torres Strait Islander designers, showcased by 20 Far North Queensland and Torres Strait Islander models. Put together by curator Grace Lillian Lee and choreographer Fiona Wirrer-George, the show is sure to be a sell-out, so get your tickets quick sticks!
