When you think about versatile fabrics, denim might not be the first one that comes to mind, but pioneers of sustainable children’s fashion Jake & Maya are set to challenge all that! The British collective have just launched an upcycling challenge appealing to budding textile designers who want to get creative with denim. Each month a winner will be rewarded with vouchers and have the chance to join the Jake & Maya team as an upcycling designer. So far, the entries have included a denim cuff bracelet, a wine sack, a wall-mounted denim deer head and a queen-sized quilt! The challenge runs for 12 months in total and you can enter as many times as you like, as long as you keep coming up with original ideas! For more information on how to get involved, check out the Jake & Maya website.
