Australia Day for All

Saltwater Freshwater Festival

With Australia Day only a few days away, there are a huge number of festivals, exhibitions and celebrations happening right across the country. Along with the traditional backyard BBQ or day at the beach, Australia Day is also an important time to celebrate our cultural diversity and there are a number of events paying homage to the world’s oldest surviving culture. For those in Sydney, the now iconic Yabun is being held in Victoria Park and will feature Blues legend Marlene Cummins, well known Queensland rapper JPoint and singer songwriter Frank Yamma. For those a little further north, the town of Taree will play host to the Saltwater Freshwater Festival which is celebrating its fourth year in the region. The festival will feature dance and hip hip workshops, weaving demonstrations and performances from well known bands like The Last Kinection. Check out what’s happening in your community!
