Sewing School: The Peppermint West End Jacket Is Here!

Suit up and say hello to the Peppermint West End Jacket – the trans-seasonal staple you never knew you needed!

Made in collaboration with fabulous French patternmaker Camille of Camimade Patterns, the Peppermint West End Jacket is a universally useful, gender-neutral design with clever construction. It features a touch of tasteful top-stitching and a few fascinating flat-felled seams. Not to mention patch pockets, perfectly placed for putting your mitts in and big enough to store all your essentials. Sew it in thick wool for winter warmth or lightweight cotton as a summer shacket – this is a pattern you’ll want to make again and again.

Big love as always to our sewing partner Spoonflower for helping to make our free patterns possible! The world’s largest marketplace of independent designs from global artists, Spoonflower is leading the way in custom, sustainable textile printing. Their on-demand process significantly reduces materials, energy and water, and uses non-toxic inks and fabrics that are ethically sourced. Pop over to spoonflower.com for inspiration for your next me-made project.

We used Spoonflower’s Dogwood Denim, printed with watercolour tie-dye by South African illustrator Melly Williams and navy denim from Byron Bay bohemian Esther Fallon Lau, as well as a statement pop of Matisse-inspired magnolias from Carrie Cantwell.

A free printed pattern is included in our latest print edition on sale now! Stitch your way to happiness without the stress of having to download the pattern and print it yourself or the time-consuming challenge that is taping together All Those Pages. Otherwise, download the pattern for free and share on socials with #PeppermintPatterns and #PeppermintWestEndJacket so we can see your makes!

Another great make from Lisa from @SunnySewsEveryday:

My #PeppermintWaratahWrapDress is finished and I’m so proud of it. It has been designed not to flap open and flash your pants in the wind, so I feel confident it will be a great wheelchair or standing dress in English weather.

✨ INSTANT CLASSIC ✨

The Peppermint Myrtle Shift Dress is a beginner-friendly make with a few special details based on the ever-stylish shift shape – the perfect dress you need in your wardrobe right now!

Myrtle cuts above the knee with options to customise the length. Don’t think she’s reserved for hot weather either: try a heavier-weight fabric to turn your Myrtle into a pinafore-style garment for layering.

For our fabrics we chose two from our lovely sewing partner @Karmme_Apparel – the bold Rottnest Stripes in a lightweight, soft-drape cotton, and the quality linen in the handpainted Mexico Collection.

Get making the Myrtle – the only question is, can you stop at just one?
