Here’s definitive proof that it’s entirely possible to look sharp while wearing planet-friendly threads. Emma Watson’s been gallivanting the globe promoting her new film Beauty and the Beast and launched The Press Tour Instagram account giving behind-the-scenes peeks into each of her glamorous outfits.

Detailed captions reveal Emma only wears clothing labels committed to being more sustainable, as verified by EcoAge. That includes faux leather jackets by Stella McCartney, a white bespoke Oscar de la Renta dress featuring hand embroidered silk taffeta made in an Italian mill, and this incredible tulle, crepe georgette silk and sequinned gown crafted from left-over fabric from a previous Elie Saab haute couture collection. Even Emma’s makeup brands are verified by Content Beauty.

The Harry Potter star has long been a fierce champion for eco-fashion, making the choice in 2015 to only wear sustainable fashion on the red carpet. “It’s not enough for me anymore that it’s a beautiful item or a beautiful piece. I want to know that it’s not leaving a negative mark,” she told CNN last year.

Emma insists she’s not paid by the brands, but rather is just “trying to be conscious about where my clothes come from and also about the people who make them”. She even re-wears pieces – usually a massive Hollywood no-no – as part of the sustainability-focused #30wears campaign.

Hearteningly, Emma’s Press Tour account also serves to highlight just how much primping and behind-the-scenes teamwork goes into each look, helping dispel the female perfection myth that Hollywood too often promotes.
