This week, some of Australia’s best emerging fashion designers will be strutting their stuff on the runway for the first time. After Darkly, QUT’s Graduate Fashion Show, will see 22 fresh designers reveal their collections to the public over three nights of parades. “The student fashion collections are sophisticated and playful,” says QUT Design lecturer, Carla van Lunn. “There is both colour and darkness. The graduates have worked tremendously hard this year to produce some of the best fashion happening in Australia right now.” But the fun will also fall outside the catwalk, with a pop up bar happening before and after the shows for students and guests to mingle with fashionistas from across the country – including designers Romance Was Born.
