Australia Votes

While the pollsters may be calling tomorrow’s election a done deal, there’s still a lot you can do to significantly affect the outcome – especially when it comes to The Senate. If you, like us, want to see action on climate change, humane treatment of refugees, a fair and equal education system and protection of The Great Barrier Reef, then check out GetUp’s OzVote scorecard or the ABC’s various Federal Election Policy Guides to see how the different parties stack up against these issues (Budget Smuggler also has a great visual tool illustrating the impact of foreign aid cuts). Making sure an independent voice holds the balance of power in the Senate will be crucial when it comes to the fate of our nation and its environment – as well as crucial for a healthy democracy as a whole. Let your vote be a voice for positive change and a modern, respectful and responsible Australia.
