Thursday June 20 is World Refugee Day and New Zealand label Kowtow are marking the occasion by donating $25 from the sale of every Immolate Tee bought online for the next fortnight to the NZ Red Cross and Refugee Services. Bearing an image of the Tibetan monk who set herself alight in November 2011 in protest of Chinese oppression, Kowtow hopes that this design will call attention to refugee displacement and help spread awareness and goodwill on the issue. Screenprinted and available in both men’s and women’s cuts and two colours, the Immolate is made from GOTS-certified fair trade organic cotton and is available online now. Meanwhile, you can support refugee families and provide assistance through the UNHCR’s special World Refugee Day 1family program here.
