Making Strides in Milan
Milan is already regarded as one of the world’s fashion capitals, but last week it hosted a catwalk event with a sustainable spin. European Commissioner for Climate Action, Connie Hedegaard, hosted a meeting of leading figures of Europe’s fashion industry along with producers of detergents and household appliances, which culminated in a fashion show. The event aimed to show how combining creativity, innovation and sustainability could give the fashion industry an edge. The catwalk itself showed climate friendly creations from C.L.A.S.S and NICE, made from innovative Italian raw materials. Other participating designers included goodsociety, BIONEUMA, Marimekko and H&M. The event itself was part of the European Commission’s public awareness campaign A World You Like, With a Climate You Like, which you can find out more about here!
