Exciting news! Peppermint is teaming up with Billy Blue College of Design to present a very special event in Melbourne on Thursday, January 17th. Tailoring Tomorrow will bring together guest speakers from a wide range of fashion industries including independent labels, major fashion brands and representatives from the textile industry, certification boards and ethical manufacturing to discuss and celebrate our smarter future of fashion. Guest speakers include sustainability advocate Eloise Bishop, award-winning eco couture designer Rachael Cassar, designers from SOSUME and ALAS, and representatives from Ethical Clothing Australia (ECA) and The Council of Textile & Fashion Industries of Australia (TFIA). Together they’ll share insights into how independent labels and major fashion brands are pioneering ways to merge sustainability and fashion, forging exciting new paths for designers and graduates.

A mini market showcasing textiles, labels and fashion processes will accompany the event, giving guests a chance to engage with concepts and see some excellent examples of sustainable fashion first hand. Eco events team Grassroots Productions (the same team bringing Australia’s first ‘Green Carpet event’, The Green Ball, to Melbourne in February) will be styling and catering the evening, offering a delicious selection of organic canapés and cocktails. So whether you’re a student, designer, or are just interested in hearing the insights of some of Australia’s brightest, then this is a night not to be missed!
