Earth Hour 2011

Time to get romantic for planet earth. This Saturday, March 26th, the candles again come out for Earth Hour – the biggest global gesture of eco solidarity around. As lights and power points are switched off around the world, Earth Hour this year asks us to reflect and send prayers to the people of Japan still recovering from the country’s devastating tsunami. While high-profile peeps like Miranda Kerr and Russell Simmons pledge their support, WWF is also holding its Inaugural Earth Hour Awards for outstanding achievements in sustainability. Public voting for The People’s Choice Award continues until March 25th and, oh, what do you know, our lovely editor Kelley Sheenan is a nominee! We would love it if you could head to the Earth Hour website to pledge your support, vote and find out more info about how you can continue your environmental goodwill Beyond The Hour. The only question that remains now is: will Tony Abbott be turning off his lights?
