Do It in a Dress!

If you’re in Year 12 and just about to finish school then you’re probably sick to death of your school uniform. In fact, you’re probably sick to death of school. But for many girls, school is an unattainable dream. In Sierra Leone for instance, only one in six girls attend high school. It doesn’t have to be this way though. One Girl has come up with a clever campaign to raise funds for the girls of Sierra Leone: Do It in a Dress. Simply wear a school dress (easily available from op shops or daughters’ closets) to go about your daily business any time from October 2-9 and get people to sponsor you for it – heck, you can even run a marathon in said school dress if you so desire. Extra points for that one. We at Peppermint (especially the Environmunter – mainly due to peer pressure) are looking forward to getting involved, and hope you out there are as well. We’d love to see photos of your efforts too – please email hello[at]peppermintmag[dot]com and we’ll trade some sneaky snaps! Best start searching for that dress now…
