The Ethics of Style

If you’ve gotten your hands on our latest issue, you’ll no doubt have gasped in awe at fashion designer Gemma Anastasiou’s petal-printed fabrics. As beautiful as they are on our pages, Gemma’s creations are even more breathtaking in real life – especially when surrounded by the art and fashion of other creative types as they will be at the upcoming Ethics of Style exhibition at Eltham’s Light Factory Gallery. A showcase of art and sustainable fashion, the exhibition will feature Anastasiou’s slow-dyed designs alongside Rachael Cassar’s upcycled couture creations and Joseph Jang’s unique imaginings in recycled denim, all set against a backdrop of works by fashion illustrators Angie Rehe, Kerrie Hess, Christine Pan, Michel Canetti, Edwina White and Caitlin Shearer.

All the exhibitors will be gathering for the exhibition opening from 2pm-4pm on Sunday, June 23, so if you’re interested in finding out where they get their inspiration, join them over a drink from organic-certified Naked Range Wines. Later on, you can embrace your own inner artist at a fashion illustration workshop on July 27 or try your hand at refashioning your wardrobe with Peppermint‘s own Leeyong Soo on July 20.
