Ready to be inspired, informed and uplifted?

If you’re a high-schooler, you won’t want to miss the first ever Brisbane Teen PepTalks event on Saturday 5th October!

Brought to you by Peppermint magazine in partnership with our friends at the State Library of Queensland, Teen PepTalks will be a fun afternoon hearing from amazing speakers who are making a difference in the world. Your generation will be inheriting this earth and have the power to make great change; come along and hear inspiring stories, learn about important issues (like sustainable fashion, diversity, climate change and self love) and leave feeling empowered to make your own difference in the world. (And importantly: there will be donuts and goodie bags. Need we say more).

On the day, you’ll be lucky enough to hear from Amanda Rootsey –  best-selling author of Shine from Within; a Teen Girl’s Guide to Life, and a youth mentor who teaches teen and tween girls that they’re perfect, just as they are; Montana Lower – environmental engineer turned model, writer, artist and activist; artist and designer Rachael Sarra, who uses art as a tool to educate and share Aboriginal culture; Brooke Jamieson – model and mathematician; Holley Somerville Knott, the teenager who founded Tell Someone Who Cares – a social enterprise and global community that helps protect rainforests from palm oil destruction; Hayley Payne from Oaktree, Australia’s largest youth-run development agency who harness the power of young people to create a more just world and Sara McKoy – the young Brisbane School Strike 4 Climate organiser! All this and lots more, plus the lovely slow fashion blogger Leah Musch, aka The Unmaterial Girl, will be our MC for the day. Hurrah!

As if that wasn’t enough, there’ll be tasty treats from NoDo Donuts and drinks from Remedy on the day and everyone who attends will get a goodie bag worth over $70! Huge thanks to our friends at Murdoch Books, Modi Bodi, The Other Straw, Biome, Shelby’s and Love, Beauty & Planet for sharing the love with us.

Come along, make new friends and go home feeling great about yourself and the difference you can make. We can’t wait to meet you!

Just FYI – teens are fine to come on their own, or parents are welcome too! Everyone who comes along needs to have their own ticket.
