Summer is looking bright with our new Peppermint Bardon Dress sewing pattern!

We teamed up with Perth patternmaker extraordinaire Lauren Boyle of Elbe Textiles, to create this beautiful free pattern for you! With a summer-friendly sleeveless bodice, snazzy gathered ties and the absolute feature in our opinion, pockets (hurrah!), this looks-good-on-everyone style is the injection of fun your wardrobe needs. Twirl your way through each and every day!

We’re also so excited to say that our patterns are now created in partnership with Spoonflower! The world’s largest marketplace of independent designs from global artists, Spoonflower is leading the way in custom, sustainable textile printing. Their on-demand process significantly reduces materials, energy and water, with inks that meet Oeko-Tex 100 requirements and fabrics – including a Certified Organic range – that are ethically sourced. I’ve been admiring all of the amazing @Elbe_Textiles #PeppermintBardonDress pics and feeling envious! So when Peppermint reached out to me to ask me to make it in @Spoonflower fabric, I was delighted! The dress is a summer dress, but because it’s winter here, I’ve winterized it with a merino turtleneck and leggings. The turtleneck is a soon-to-be released @munaandbroad fitted t shirt (and turtleneck) pattern that’s ideal for layering or wearing alone. The pattern sewed up beautifully. I sized up one size and the only alteration I made was to add a little length to the front to compensate for my large bust. No other changes! The next time I make it (and there will be a next time), I think I will increase the number of gathers because I personally like a fuller gathering.

How much do I adore this dress? Yesterday I made this dress, shamelessly copied from style guru @FrocksAndFrouFrou. I love the bodice fit, with just a single tier of gathered skirt (and pockets obviously). The fabric is an Adair’s linen tablecloth with a print by one of my favourite artists: @DanaKinter and isn’t it gorgeous? So pretty I haven’t even tried it on, I’ve just hung it up like a work of art to admire 😍
