Fair Trade Festivities

One Colour fair trade markets

Brisbane locals: stop what you’re doing. Back away from that mega shopping centre and do not proceed to checkout on that overseas website you’re looking at. Christmas shopping is so much more enjoyable and better for our community, the environment and your wallets if you shop local, fair trade and handmade and this weekend you can do it all in one place! The Fair Trade Christmas Market, hosted by the Queensland Fair Trade Collective, is on this Saturday and Sunday (November 30 and December 1) at St Aidan’s Anglican School, Ruthven Street, Corinda from 9.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. You’ll find lovingly handcrafted and fairly traded goods from artists and crafters from around the world. Earrings for mum, a bag for dad, a painting for your other half and adorable clothes and handmade toys for the kids – that’s Christmas shopping for this year done and dusted. As well as fair trade stalls there’ll be music, tasty food and raffle prizes to get you in the festive spirit. Find more info on the Facebook page here.
