Eco Fashion Week Vancouver

It was only fitting that the sixth edition of Eco Fashion Week Vancouver was held during Earth Week celebrations – and we’re envious of the many great programs that took place! For the first time, the week kicked off with a series of free seminars on sustainability and innovation in the fashion industry. The event’s educational component was front and centre, to provide more context around the runway shows which started on day two. The first of these was actually a creative challenge called the ‘Thrift Chic Show’, where designers created quirky collections from secondhand clothing. The third day was by far the busiest with nine runway shows from both emerging and veteran eco designers including Sally Omeme, Bhana, Elroy and Couture Therapy. The shows were dominated by knitwear and strong tailoring for the Fall/Winter collections. The fourth and final day hosted three runway shows, two of which were from vintage and secondhand collections. Great to see Eco Fashion Week continuing to thrive!
