Craft Cubed 2013 is set to be bigger and better than ever, with hundreds of events programmed for Melbourne’s CBD and surrounding suburbs in August. Among the ranks include an ambitious, all day, all free entry program celebrating sustainable fashion and all things handmade. Commune will take over the Brunswick RMIT campus on August 24 with workshops and talks from the likes of Lucy Feagins (The Design Files) and Kirsteen Phelan (Etsy), a design education forum with representatives from Massey University and Parsons New School, a Clothing Exchange swap, garment repair workshop, huge Markers Market showcasing the locally made wares of RMIT students and alumni. Part of Craft Cubed’s satellite program, make sure you check out the day’s schedule and plan your time well – there’s a whole lot of sustainable fashion goodness to take in!
