Most mainstream fashion brands have a long way to go before they can be considered sustainable. At London Fashion Week earlier this year, only a third of brands had a sustainable focus. Still, that’s up from last year, and the year before that. And that’s why fashion royalty are getting together this weekend to show they’re serious about fixing some of the flaws in the industry and working towards a sustainable future. Supermodel Amber Valletta, Vogue editors and heads of departments from the likes of Vivienne Westwood and Roland Mouret are just some of the speakers at SOURCE Summit 2013 in London this Friday (July 12). The Summit aims to bring together leaders from every chink in the fashion chain to talk about issues that revolve around Momentum – a.k.a. building momentum for sustainability in the fashion industry. In light of the Bangladeshi factory disasters, they’ll discuss challenges, swap tips and shine the spotlight on forward-thinking businesses. Want to be involved but can’t make it to London by Friday? Sign up online and you can stream the summit live straight into your lounge room!
