Telling Community Stories

Emerging filmmakers take note! Australia’s Indigenous Broadcaster NITV is on the lookout for new content as part of their Regional, Remote and Emerging Initiative. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander filmmakers and Regional and Remote Media Organisations can apply to create a one-off story or up to as many as ten stories across themes like ‘Our Footprint’, ‘Around the Campfire’ and ‘Unearthed.’ The aim of the initiative is to show audiences a slice of life from communities around Australia that may not otherwise feature on our screens. NITV have created a Producers Pack with information on all the requirements and in some cases, can even provide financial or editing assistance. Applications close on May 24 with shoots to happen from July to September. The result will be 15 minutes of new Indigenous content, six days a week for 20 weeks. Time to get filming!
