In the spirit of Fair Trade Fortnight, The QLD Fair Trade Collective has teamed up with QUTβs new sustainable fashion hub, The Stitchery, to bring us a colourful evening of Ethical Fashion next Friday, May 20. Featuring canapΓ©s, drinks and some very special speakers β including Paula Rogers, co-founder or Fairer Traders Australia, artisan Cecilia Granadino, sustainable designer Alice Jones and Millie and Nicole from Melbourneβs The Social Studio – the event will provide great insight for anyone interested in the ins and outs of contemporary, ethical fashion. Tickets are only $15 (include canapΓ©s and two drink tickets β now thatβs a cheap night out!), and can be pre-puchased online here. βCrafting is something that has come naturally since I was small and I just havenβt stopped. When I was smaller, I was interested in the end result. As Iβve gotten older, I realise itβs the process that keeps me coming back to craft. Itβs a meditative state for me and I find the repetitive action of the stitching and felting quite therapeutic.ββ
