What a pile of precious makes you’ve showered upon us this month, Peppermint pals. If beautiful jpegs were diamonds, and pride and joy were dollar bills, we’d be some of the richest folk in the world (and hopefully not descend into the sort of unethical behaviour they’re known for). So it’s probably for the best we traffic in warm and fuzzy feelings instead.

To celebrate you priceless jewels, we’ve put together a roundup of some of our favourite makes we’ve seen this July. If you want to show off your sensational sewing, be sure to tag us in your posts and you might see yourself in The Stitch Up in months to come!

Barbie Tingz

We simply have to shout out some of the brilliant Barbie-esque makes we’ve seen recently. @Lo.Ve.Brands is hot-to-trot in her pink Peppermint Spring Shorts while @Kasey.Sews is as pretty as a princess in her pastel Peppermint Wrap Skirt. Get the Barbiecore look with our essential guide

A Rozelle By Any Other Name

Some sensational Peppermint Rozelle Slip makes are slithering in to delight our senses, like @Silberkind’s beachy blue linen number and @MaisieScannell’s dreamy denim blue satin piece – the perfect wedding guest outfit!

You Better Stitch

The groovy Noelle @__StitchBitch__ has put out a cool tutorial for a drafted bralette top of her own invention! We are enjoying how many people are pairing their makes with a Peppermint pattern like @CaitSnyd_Sews in her Peppermint Spring Shorts and @Leila.Makes in her Peppermint Wrap Skirt

PRINT-A-PALOOZA

A bold colourful print that stops you in your tracks can turn any pattern into a showstopping make – @MyBaliCloset’s dazzling Peppermint Pocket Skirt is made from three amazing Ankara prints and @Sharlene_Handmade_It’s jubilant Peppermint Milton Pinafore is sewn up in a beautiful botanical collab between Marni Stuart and Nerida Hansen.

VALLEY GIRL

@VibesByJG was our cover girl in the June Stitch Up with her joyful Peppermint Valley Jumpsuit. And she’s simply not stopped churning them out creating three more of equal excellence, a bunch of which are made from upcycled bed sheets! We stan.

LOUNGE LIZARD

Another special shout-out has to go to @Never_Ending_Couture_Tricot’s phenomenal Peppermint Loungewear pants which she has paired with some fabulously frilly Fibre Mood tops to create a couple of outstanding outfits.

As the world careens towards AI seeping into our feeds, finds and even friend-zones, it's becoming increasingly hard to ignore.

We just wanted to say that here at Peppermint, we are choosing to not print or publish AI-generated art, photos, words, videos or content.

Merriam-Webster’s human editors chose 'slop' as the 2025 Word of the Year – they define it as “digital content of low quality that is produced usually in quantity by means of artificial intelligence.” The problem is, as AI increases in quality, it's becoming more and more difficult to ascertain what's real and what's not.

Let's be clear here, AI absolutely has its place in science, in climate modelling, in medical breakthroughs, in many places... but not in replacing the work of artists, writers and creatives.

Can we guarantee that everything we publish is AI-free? Honestly, not really. We know we are not using it to create content, but we are also relying on the artists, makers and contributors we work with, as well as our advertisers, to supply imagery, artwork or words created by humans. AI features are also creeping into programs and apps too, making it difficult to navigate. But we will do our best to avoid it and make a stand for the artists and creatives who have had their work stolen and used to train AI machines, and those who are now losing work as they are replaced by this energy-sapping, environment-destroying magic wand.

Could using it help our productivity and bottom line? Sure. And as a small business in a difficult landscape, that's a hard one to turn down. We know other publishers who use AI to write stories, create recipes, produce photo shoots... but this one is important to us.

'Touch grass' was also a Merriam-Webster Word of the Year. We'll happily stick with that as a theme, thanks very much. 🌿
