Summer Issue 44 – Out Now!

44CoverSOCIALS

The sun is shining and the beach is calling, which means one thing – our hot-off-the-press new-look Summer Issue 44 is finally here!

After lots of hard work, we’re thrilled to be sharing this fresh new issue of Peppermint with you, our beloved readers. Not only do we have a beautiful updated masthead (thanks to the lovely Tom from Byron Bay-based studio New Tropical Design), we’ve given the inside pages a little makeover, the outside cover a lovely new texture and, overall, it’s a slightly smaller size (perfect for popping in your beach bag!) – plus there are many, many extra pages that will help us bring you even more Pepperminty goodness each and every issue. We’re also very proud to say we’ve offset our carbon emissions through Carbon Neutral (via an Australian biodiversity reforestation project) and, from now on, when you subscribe, we’ll plant a tree on your behalf through our partners at One Tree Planted. We hope you love the new look as much as we do!

As our founder Kelley Sheenan explains in her opening letter, “I feel like an excited but nervous house owner standing at the door of my newly renovated home… This change has been a long time coming and I’m so excited and terrified and all the emotions in between for you to be holding our fresh, new-look Peppermint in your hands.”

Inside its gorgeous pages we speak to our cover star – actress and changemaker Maree Lowes – about harnessing the power of storytelling as a vehicle for change; delve into the murky world of ‘greener’ plastics; meet a photographer who’s celebrating the beauty of real skin; talk traceability with ethical womenswear label Arnsdorf; dive into sustainable swimwear with Camp Cove; and explore ways you can sync with nature for a happier and healthier life.

Plus you’ll find tips for using up those pesky kitchen scraps; an illustrator who’s obsessed with ugly animals; seven acts of everyday activism to help you contribute to a better world; three tasty vegan recipes for those with a sweet tooth (who, us?!); a guide to sewing on a button; a roundup of good news stories from around the globe; an eco travel guide to Siem Reap; a free sewing pattern for the ultimate swishy maxi dress you’ll want to wear all season long (and then some); and so much more.

Grab your copy today from our website, one of our lovely stockists or your local newsy – we hope it fills you with inspiration and positivity this summer!

A toast to the old you 🥂

We wholeheartedly love this post from the brilliant @EmilyOnLife:

“2026: Reinvent, burn it down, let it go (whatever it is). Year of the Snake it up. Exercise your boundaries, exercise your body, take one teeny step every day towards a life that feels better to be in.

But don’t you dare shit on your old self while you do it.

Hold yourself with reverence and tenderness and respect, because you got you this far. You did your very best with the information and tools you had at the time. You scraped yourself together, you made it work, you survived what felt impossible to survive: again and again and again.

You are perpetually in the process of becoming, whether you can feel it or not, whether or not you add it to your 2026 to-do list.“
Some very wise words from @Damon.Gameau to take us into 2026 🙌🏼
⭐️ We made it!!! ⭐️

Happy New Year, friends. To those who smashed their goals and achieved their dreams, and to those who are crawling over the finish line hoping to never speak of this year again (and everyone else in between): we made it. However you got here is enough. Be proud.

It’s been a tough year for many of us in small business, so here’s to a better year in 2026. We’re forever grateful for all your support and are jumping for joy to still be here bringing you creativity, kindness and community.

We’re also excited to be leaping into the NY with our special release sewing pattern – the Waratah Wrap Dress!
