If you haven’t made these super-cute and easy-to-wear elastic-waist shorts before, get to it!

They’re made for those on-the-go days that call for comfort. A quick and simple make with a gently curved hemline and a relaxed, adjustable fit, these shorts have a paperbag waist detail and practical side pockets that you’ll love. Whether you’re popping to the market or meeting friends for lunch, this short and sweet sew is sure to turn out a weekend wardrobe staple!

The Spring Shorts pattern was created for us in 2015 by Pattern Runway, a company that has sadly closed. The pattern has been incredibly popular but we know it had very limited sizing, and so, drum roll, we’re happy to say we have worked with a local pattern grader to have the sizing updated. It has now been graded for our current size range, from A-P! That’s 16 sizes – hoorah!!!

We asked Shannon, the sewing extraordinaire behind @Pins_And_Tonic, to whip up a pair in midweight 100% Certified Organic Hemp (in Kale) from The Fabric Store. Doesn’t she look gorgeous?! Grab yourself the updated pattern!

What our sewing community says

Here at Peppermint, we’re passionate about all things craft, creativity and community!

The strands of Peppermint’s DNA are bonded together with buttons and thread. Since our beginnings in 2008, sustainable fashion, either by brands that are working to bring change to the industry or those made by your own two hands, is at our cotton-loving core. We love the undeniable happiness that is woven through the maker community. It’s a tough old world out there at the moment, and anything that brings joy with a side of kindness and connection (and a new creative endeavour) is a good thing indeed. We ♡ our sewing community and hope you ♡ our sewing patterns!
