Let’s wear the change! This is the manifesto behind jeans brand Haikure, who are leading the charge on sustainability, innovation and transparency. Hailing from Italy, Haikure aims to “respect the planet and people through a new lifestyle, where the latest fashion trends and sustainability come together.” They use eco-friendly materials and processes in developing their super stylish threads. For example, instead of using dangerous ‘sandblasting’ techniques to give jeans a faded look, they use a vegetable mix compost of food chain waste. Haikure are also one of the first denim companies to provide QR tags, which allow you to scan and trace the entire supply chain (including where the zippers and buttons were sourced from!). You can pick up your own pair of green jeans through Australian ethical online store Indigo Bazaar.
