From the Desert

Desert Designs are world renowned for their fusion of indigenous art and contemporary garment making – and now the Sydney-based design house are channeling sustainable fashion like never before for an exclusive new capsule collection. Inspired by their recent appearance on the Clean Cut Runway at MBFWA 2014, the aptly named Collector’s Collection has seen Desert Designs pull some of their most sought-after, collector-worthy fabrics – all hand-printed in the 1980s – out of the archives.

Completely handmade in Australia, every Collectors garment is a one-off piece designed to spotlight the Aboriginal print artists and up-and-coming textile designers who have collaborated on the range. Pieces from the Collector’s Collection are available for purchase from 6pm tonight at the Siberian Desert concept store in Regent St, Chippendale – get in quick to pick up your own piece of Desert Designs history.
