Etsy Design Awards

Bind and Fold

Etsy has long been the online home of inspired design; now here’s your chance to give a nod to one of your favourite Australian sellers. The Etsy Design Awards recognise excellence in creativity, rewarding the lucky winner with a trip to Etsy HQ in Brooklyn. With the list of finalists for 2014 just announced, there is certainly no shortage of handmade, ethical and eco-friendly makers to cast your vote towards. In the Home and Living category you’ll find Bind and Fold‘s hand-dyed indigo textiles (pictured above), hemp storage bags by Harvest Haversack, and ceramics from BelinismVice and Velvet‘s vegan body products and chemical-free skincare from Metta, both handcrafted in Melbourne, are among the beauty brands on show, while the fashion tag features a great collection of artisan makers, including Brisbane’s Alice Nightingale. Business as Usual covers a mixed bag of nominees, including eco homewares label My Bearded Pigeon and the clever upcycled timber creations of Worth Skateboards. Voting is now open – have your say before October 23 and you’ll be in with a chance to win a $250 Etsy gift card – to spend in your new favourite store, of course!
