Calls to End Cosmetic Cruelty

On March 11, the European Union will be banning the sale of newly animal-tested cosmetics – and the move has sparked activity here in our neck of the woods too. The co-founder and managing director of LUSH Australia are calling on Accord Australasia Limited and its counterparts to turn their backs on animal testing once and for all. Europe has banned animal testing since 2009, but no restrictions apply here in Australia, with most of our cosmetics being imported from overseas – including many companies that sadly do test on animals. In an open letter, representatives from LUSH and the Humane Society International are urging companies to take heed from this historic move, to stop making excuses and ban animal testing for good. To celebrate the EU’s decision, you can also sign a Be Cruelty Free Pledge here.
