Ethical Enterprise Conference

F@S_031

If you want to change the world, next month’s Ethical Enterprise Conference in Melbourne is a great place to start.

Brought to you by social enterprise Moral Fairground, the two-day conference running from the 3rd to 4th December 2015 (held at Lab 14 Carlton Connect) is a must-do for anyone interested in social and ethical enterprise. This educational networking event brings together professionals, business owners, managers, new social entrepreneurs, students and ethical business leaders who share similar values – featuring talks from inspirational people like Malcolm Rands from Eco Store, Dustin Leonard from HERO Condoms, Peta Granger from Lush Cosmetics and Phil Vernon from Australian Ethical Investment. No matter how big or small, enterprises are encouraged to join with fellow leaders to discuss how social investments can use innovative ethical practices to make a positive impact. Make sure you reserve your spot today!

fs_Z0C9117Those looking for ethical family fun can head down to the annual Fair@Square Festival (another initiative from Moral Fairground) running from 11-6, Sat 5th and Sunday 6th December in Melbourne’s Federation Square – which aims to raise awareness of ethical living, and inspire and educate people to incorporate small changes into their own lives. This year’s theme is ‘Unearthing Goodness from Soil to Shelf’ and there’s plenty of good stuff for all ages, including documentary screenings, sustainable fashion shows, kids’ art classes and a celebration of all things soil – as well as heathy food stalls and ethical gift markets for conscious Christmas shopping.

We’ve got two double passes to the Ethical Enterprise Conference (which also include tickets to the Ethical Enterprise Award dinner ceremony on the Friday evening) worth $800 each to give away! To enter the draw, just comment on this post and tell us in 25 words or less why you’d like to attend. Entries close on Monday 16 November at 4pm AEST.

Competition Terms and Conditions: Winners must be in Melbourne on 3rd to 4th December 2015 and able to travel to and from the events. Prize is for tickets only and does not include travel, transfers or accommodation. Prize is not redeemable for cash.

“We are in unprecedented times in the United States, at least in terms of having a government who openly and unabashedly disparages, rejects and causes harm to trans folks and other marginalised groups, including immigrants. So my team decided I should make a piece of art that included the words ‘You Belong Here’ that people could hang in their homes, and this piece was born.” @LisaCongdon 💕

Who’s going to the sold out Liberty Fabrics Showcase in Brisbane or Melbourne? 🙋‍♀️

To say we’re excited is an understatement! Maybe we’re biased because our lovely Laura (Sewing Manager) is walking in the fashion parade along with many other incredible sewists in our community, but also - there’s SO many good things: retail stalls featuring exclusive products, rare finds and all things @LibertyFabrics, and sneak peeks at brand-new quilting and fashion collections, including the Liberty Fabrics Spring/Summer ‘Floral Rebellion’ collection.

Also - Liberty legends Mary-Ann Dunkley (Head of Design) and Anna Buruma (ex-Head of Archive) are flying in from London especially!

Keep an eye on our socials this weekend for BTS! 🌸🌼🌺

Thanks to the teams @2GreenZebras @Regent_Street_Fabrics and @StyleArc for including me on the runway. I absolutely can’t wait!

Obviously I’ll be hoping for enough scrap fabric to make some kind of accessories…
