We are only two days into Berlin Fashion Week and already eco design is taking centre stage. The SHOWFLOOR BERLIN initiative is showing 16 collections this year and has so far seen local sustainable labels ANSOHO and Clara Kaesdorf grace its catwalk. The Green Showroom, another feature of the week, presents high-end fashion trends against the backdrop of Berlin’s famous Adlon Hotel. This year it pays special tribute to fashion’s thriving young avantgarde with a stack of local and other European labels like Cocccon and Elsien Gringhuis. This year’s edition of the Ethical Fashion Show, which wraps up today, has been focussed on social standards in manufacturing processes and transparency of the supply chain. A new element of the fashion show has been the introduction of the Knowledge Lounge talk program, launched in January this year, where attendees can engage with experts or attend seminars on issues of sustainable style. Keep an eye on the Fashion Week website for all things green and glamorous!
