Find a penny, pick it up – all day long you’ll have good luck. Find a handmade, inscribed book and all day long you’ll have a good mood! Inspiring and creating a moment of happiness for strangers is the idea behind Sharing Ink, a project by public artist Sayraphim Lothian, that hits the streets of Melbourne between August 1st and 10th. Spreading random acts of Guerilla Kindness, Sayraphim and her team will be quietly leaving these gorgeous, handmade books in locations around the CBD. Each inscribed with an uplifting message from a local playwright, poet, artist or blogger, the books will be waiting to be stumbled upon and collected. If you’re lucky enough to find one, you can keep it, or pass on the goodwill by adding your own message and leaving it elsewhere. You can follow the Sharing Ink project online, and don’t forget to keep an eye out for one of Sayraphim’s books!
