ISSUE 8 – SUMMER TUNIC

Welcome to Sewing School: the place where we rediscover the lost domestic skills that made our grandmamas so nifty. There are no rules here, except an understanding that by making your own you’re finding a way to express your own style, eliminate social and environmental injustice, and – just as a warning – may even come out looking fabulous.

For our first session we have a free pattern for this simple summer tunic dress (pictured below), courtesy of our expert sewanista Sandra Bryans. To make one of your very own, simply click to download and print off the following instructions and pattern, pick a favourite fabric, grab a cuppa and get stitching! As noted in the instructions that follow, we of course recommend that you print on scrap or recycled paper, using draft printer settings, and even share or pass on the pattern once you’ve finished. Best of luck, and please email us with any questions or a sweet snap of your finished product!
