The Thin Green Line

The life of a park ranger may seem idyllic – hanging out in the fresh air all day surrounded by trees and talking to the animals. But rangers and their families in some countries don’t have it so easy, coming under attack from poachers willing to kill to get their hands on the animals, land or resources that the rangers are working to protect. The Thin Green Line is a foundation that offers support to families of rangers who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the name of conservation. It’s a serious issue, but their World Ranger Day fundraiser dinner at Abbotsford Convent, Melbourne this Saturday night promises to be a night of laughs, with a comedian MC, smorgasboard dinner by Lentil As Anything, music by Archie Roach and others, and raffle prizes galore.
