The Peppermint Peplum Top is a simple summer singlet with a comfortable and relaxed fit, perfect for warm summer days. It features a scooped neck at the front and a v-neck at the back, shoulder panels and a gathered peplum. The neckline and armholes are finished with bias binding for a beautiful and professional finish. This exclusive Peppermint pattern was created for us by In The Folds.

Why did it take me so long to make this #PeppermintPeplumTop by @inthefolds ? I don’t know. Do I regret having waited for so long? Yes, because I absolutely love this pattern! It’s super cute. I think that I would have coped with the heat of previous summers better had I been able to wear this top on stinkers! I completed this top in half a day which never happened before, I’m a super slow sewist.

I first saw this pattern a while ago and it didn’t really speak to me. Most people had made them up in stiffer fabrics and I didn’t like the boxy look of all that volume. But a couple weeks ago, I saw @madeby_francesca ‘s version made up in a viscose and I really liked the drape and swish. So I decided to give it a go! I made a size B, which is one size down from my measurements, and I think this is a good fit for me.The peplum ends right at my high hip which is the perfect length for me. It’s very comfy and floaty and I think it’ll do well in the coming warm months. This is definitely one I’d like to make again. And I’d like to experiment with extending the peplum to make a swishy summer dress.

Pretty Peppermint peplum paired with pink, parrot, prints and a petite, punk, pin 🤗💓🦜 My awkward Ken Done remnants made for a perfect Peppermint peplum. I love this pattern, it’s so easy to make and to wear. Note to self however : bias binding NEEDS to be cut on the bias. I thought because the fabric had a bit of give on the grainline it’d be fine and I didn’t want to cut bias lines out of a different fabric... so my arm holes and neck line have the typical, stretched gape to them. But it’s not too bad, I will wear it anyway because it’s just so pretty! Only myself and other sewers will notice ;)
