Australian climate change-awareness non-profit 1 Million Women‘s new campaign has been in the works for a year – and it’s music to our ears! They’ve transformed iconic 80s pop tune ‘You’re the Voice’ into a powerful anthem for climate action and hope that’s a rallying cry to world leaders as they gather for the global climate change summit in Paris (COP21) at the end of this month. The beautiful video features singers Deni Hines, Wendy Matthews, Melinda Schneider and Ursula Yovich, as well as a diverse, vibrant group of women and girls all sharing the empowering message ‘we’re not going to sit in silence, we’re not going to live in fear’. With global temperatures continuing to rise, there’s never been a more important time to raise your voice and show that women, men and children around the world are united in our call for strong action on climate change. You can get involved by making a sign with the message ‘#IMTHEVOICE for climate action and hope’ and taking a picture (or even filming yourself singing your favourite verse of the song) and sharing to social media using the hashtag #IMTHEVOICE. It’s time to join the chorus!
