Discover U.R{BNE} Spaces

When was the last time you took a stroll through a disused laneway or considered the potential of an abandoned area of waterfront? Discovering these hidden nooks and crannies in our cities can help us appreciate where we live, as well as foster creativity in our communities. Now in its third year, the annual Brisbane U.R{BNE} Festival features a range of events designed to reinvigorate our urban spaces, from walking and cycling tours to hands-on workshops, art installations and more.

Highlights include Brisbane’s Biggest Clothing Swap, and City Dark – a feature film discussing why stars have disappeared from urban skies around the world, with a screening including three guest speakers exploring the theme of ‘what are we losing as our cities grow?’. The festival runs from 28th to 30th March and many of the events are free, so there’s bound to be something that’s right up your street. See the full program here and help bring these empty spaces back to life!
